Device: LG OLED55B9PUA tried playing via USB gigabit Ethernet adapter AND 5GHz wifi (both stutters).
Server: Ryzen 9 3700x, 32gb DDR4 ram, wired connection into Unifi switch.
I'm direct playing (yes, I made sure it was direct playing) a movie to my TV and it constantly buffers (every minute or so). This happens when I use wired Ethernet and 5GHz WiFi. The WiFi AP is about 8 feet away from the TV (Unifi AP AC Pro). When I cast the same movie to a Chromecast Ultra connected to the same TV, it buffers once or twice in the beginning but is able to smoothly play afterward with no buffering at all.
Fujifilm xt30 shutter count. These results were observed with multiple movies, all of which had a bitrate of 70+ Mbps , 4k HEVC HDR. The fact that the buffering behavior is observed on both wifi and ethernet rules out a bad cable. Bad wifi can be ruled out because the chromecast has no problem playing the movie. There's either something up with the TV, the plex app, or the plex server. Bandwidth issue can be ruled out because statistics from the switch (when trying ethernet) and AP (when using wifi) indicate the device is receiving over 100 Mbps.
I have a LG OLED65C9 with the latest web OS, latest plex app on the LG, Last Plex Server running on Synology NAS.
On the LG I start the plex app, start playing a music play list and then start a photo slideshow, shuffling my library of photos. Works great for about two minutes and then the LG screen saver comes on. Moving the remote solves the problem but this is annoying.
Understand the need for a screen saver when there is a static image displayed. Scrolling photos are far from static and am trying to figure away around this issue.
Any suggestions for solving this.

Are the photos changing every few seconds or do the change with the songs?
I will have to submit a complaint regarding this. This would be related to the operation of the TV and the way its detecting the app. Even though there are photos playing, it may not register as such in the TV's processing. We would not have an immediate fix for this at this time.
